Doulas - Professional Labor and Birth Support in Southern New Jersey and surrounding areas.

A doula is a woman who understands the physiology of birth and provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to pregnant and birthing women, new mothers, and their partners and families.

Every woman deserves to have a confident, powerful, beautiful birth that she can remember with joy. Above all, our job is to provide the support a woman needs to help her birth happen in the way she desires.

About Our Doulas

Jodi Kent-Spencer has enjoyed offering birth and postpartum doula service since 1998. Jodi has an educational background in child development, with training and certification in many natural healthcare modalities, and is a member in good standing of Doulas of North America (DONA) International and the Childbirth and Postpartum Professionals Association (CAPPA). As an Empowered Birth educator and certified doula through the Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators (ALACE), Jodi makes it her personal goal to offer the information, education, and support women need to make their own empowered choices in birth and parenting.

Robbi Anne Albert-Jones is an Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators (ALACE) certified labor assistant and a La Leche League Leader. As a doula, childbirth educator and breastfeeding peer counselor, Robbi is dedicated to helping families discover the choices they have in birth options and infant care.

In addition to the services we normally provide as your doula, we also offer a range of classes and activities to help you prepare for your child's birth:

Childbirth Preparation Classes
We teach Empowered Birth, a program designed to develop a woman's confidence in her body's ability to give birth and her trust in the birth process. Classes run weekly for 6 weeks or can be suited to your individual needs at your Southern New Jersey (Glassboro) location or ours.

Postpartum Care
For an hourly fee, a Better Birth Network doula may be available to provide short-term postpartum care to new families. This includes meal preparation, light housekeeping, breastfeeding help and more.
